Food Safety Advisory Visits

If you have a food business or looking to start a new food business within the district, you may be able to have an advisory visit.

This service is suitable for new businesses who wish to have some advice and help before starting a new food venture to help get it right first time or for existing businesses who wish to have some advice and guidance before their next routine inspection.

An advisory visit will include:

  • Advice on your Food Safety Management System
  • Assessing the current level of compliance for hygiene and structure of your premises
  • Advice on how you can comply with the Regulations ahead of your routine inspection.
  • Provide you with a copy of Safer Food Better Business, if you do not have a copy already.

Following the visit, the officer will provide a detailed summary of points discussed and advice given.

To book an advisory visit, please contact us using the details found at the bottom of this page.

There is a fee to pay if you wish to have an advisory visit. You can find details of this on our fees page.

Please note this service is not appropriate for businesses who are currently subject to formal enforcement action.
