Available until 31 August 2024 – Grants available for climate community energy projects
Energy company Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is inviting applications to its new Powering Communities to Net Zero fund (before the deadline of Saturday 31 August 2024). There are two categories – grants of up to £15,000 to enable communities to bolster physical and environmental resilience measures and grants of up to £20,000 for low carbon technology projects such as EV chargers, solar panels, battery storage, low carbon heating systems, smart heating controls, or other general energy efficiency measures More details are available on www.ssen.co.uk/pcnz and on the SSEN new site. https://www.ssen.co.uk/news-views/2024/SSEN-opens-applications-for-new-3m-community-fund/ Please share this news as the deadline is the end of this month.

The UK Government has a range of grants available through schemes such as Countryside Stewardship and Woodland Creation. Or see more on Government grants service web page.
Trust for Oxfordshire’s Environment has a Local Environment Fund which allocates grants for Oxfordshire based projects that benefit wildlife and promote access to green spaces. They offer funding and advice for not-for-profit groups and landowners.
Low Carbon Hub offers financial support to their member organisations through the Community Grant Fund towards community energy activities across the county.
The National Lottery helps communities around the UK address climate change through a variety of different funding schemes, including their Climate Action Fund.
CAG Oxfordshire has a regularly updated list of local funding opportunities for environmental projects, as well as details about its own Special Project Grant for Community Action Groups.
