How to pay

Please visit our online payments page here to make an online payment. You will require your unique Building Regulation application reference number to complete the payment.

All cheques must be made payable to Vale of White Horse District Council. Please send the cheque to Building Control, Abbey House, Abbey Close, Abingdon, OX14 3JE. (Please note, payment by cheque may delay the validation of an application).

Alternatively you can make a telephone card payment by contacting our office on 01235 422700.

Notes on fees and charges

The fee for an application will depend on the type of work proposed. Please note the full fee is payable upon submission of an application, regardless of application type.

A Building Notice application is subject to a 20% premium, as no plans or information will be formally checked prior to work commencing on site.

The overall Full Plans application fee is split between a 40% plan checking fee and a 60% inspection fee.

Reversion application fees and charges are assessed on a case by case basis.

Please be aware, a non-refundable admin fee of £114.74 Inc VAT (£95.63 ex VAT) is retained if an application is withdrawn. For a Full Plans application, if the application has been checked for compliance, the 40% plan checking fee is also non-refundable.

If any inspections have been undertaken for a project, an element of the inspection fee will also be retained, to take into account time spent on the application. If works have commenced on a project and the project is going ahead to completion, the application may not be withdrawn.

Regularisation applications cannot be withdrawn, once they have been submitted.

For further guidance on fees and charges, please refer to the notes section on the Building Regulation fees and charges documents, which can be downloaded above.
