UK Parliamentary General Election 2024 – voter ID statistics
The statistics below are for the UK Parliamentary General Election (UKPGE) held on Thursday 4 July 2024.
Didcot and Wantage parliamentary constituency
The following data shows the number of people who brought the required photo ID with them on polling day:
- 67,869 people were eligible to vote in person at a polling station in the Didcot and Wantage constituency (out of a total electorate of 80,689 people).
- 65.3 per cent of those eligible to do so (44,334 people), voted at a polling station on 4 July.
- 99.9 per cent* of those who attended a polling station on 4 July were able to vote as they had an accepted form of photo ID.
- 89 people, or 0.1* per cent of those eligible to vote at a polling station, were not initially issued with a ballot paper because they did not have the correct photo ID. Of those people, 61 returned with accepted photo ID and were then able to vote.
- By the close of poll, 28 people were not able to vote because they did not have the accepted photo ID. This was 0.04* per cent of those eligible to vote at a polling station in this election.
*on nationally reported statistics it is expected that figures will be rounded up / down to the nearest 0.1 per cent. Where applicable, a figure to the nearest 0.01 per cent will be included instead.
Oxford West and Abingdon parliamentary constituency
The following data shows the number of people who brought the required photo ID with them on polling day:
- 58,706 people were eligible to vote in person at a polling station in the Oxford West and Abingdon constituency (out of a total electorate of 69,851 people).
- 61.6 per cent of those eligible to do so (36,143 people), voted at a polling station on 4 July.
- 99.9 per cent* of those who attended a polling station on 4 July were able to vote as they had an accepted form of photo ID.
- 95 people, or 0.2* per cent of those eligible to vote at a polling station, were not initially issued with a ballot paper because they did not have the correct photo ID. Of those people, 73 returned with accepted photo ID and were then able to vote.
- By the close of poll, 22 people were not able to vote because they did not have the accepted photo ID. This was 0.03* per cent of those eligible to vote at a polling station in this election.
