Playing Pitch Strategy and Leisure Facilities Assessment and Strategy
The Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) and Leisure Facilities Assessment and Strategy (LFAS) are high level assessments of the key sports and leisure facilities within the district. The strategies can be used in several ways including supporting planning for new developments to include onsite provision or off-site contributions and by clubs, teams and pitch or leisure providers to support funding applications.
The strategies make recommendations for pitches and leisure facilities across three categories:
- Protect – Avoid (where possible) the loss of sports facilities and protect the community use on educational sites.
- Enhance – Improving the quality of existing facilities.
- Provide – Highlighting where new facilities are needed.
